Privacy Policy

This policy explains how user information is handled in Modern Style | Four Pillars & Five Elements.

1. Basic policy

合同会社Atbase (the “Company”) handles information about users only to the extent necessary to provide the Service and manages personal information appropriately in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws.

2. Information entered for readings

The Service allows users to enter the following information for a reading:

• nickname
• date of birth
• birth time (optional)
• birthplace (optional)
• traditional sex category used for 10-year luck-cycle calculations when the user chooses that feature
• birth date and related information of another person entered for compatibility
• dates and purposes entered for date-check functions

3. Transmission and storage of reading inputs

Major Four Pillars calculations are currently performed inside the user’s browser. The Service does not currently send or store reading inputs on the Company’s server as a reading history.

Only when the user selects “Save my inputs on this device” are nickname, birth date, birth time, birthplace, and related inputs stored in the browser’s localStorage. This information remains in the user’s device/browser and can be deleted using the on-screen delete function or by clearing browser storage.

4. Information obtained through inquiries

When receiving an inquiry, the Company may obtain an email address, name or organization name (optional), inquiry content, and other information required for a reply.

This information is used to reply, verify identity where necessary, investigate technical problems, and provide related communications.

5. Analytics

The Service uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), provided by Google LLC, to understand usage and improve the Service. GA4 may use cookies and similar technologies to collect user counts, sessions, approximate region, browser/device information, page views, and interaction events.

For analysis of usage frequency, the Service stores an anonymous usage count and last-use date in localStorage. This analytics data does not contain nickname, birth date, birth time, birthplace, or compatibility-partner information, and those reading inputs are not sent to Google Analytics by this feature.

6. Google Fonts

The Service uses Google Fonts for display. When fonts are loaded, the user’s browser may communicate with Google servers and transmit information such as IP address, requested URL, browser/OS information, and referrer.

7. Purposes of use

When the Company obtains personal information, it is used for:

• providing and operating the Service
• responding to inquiries
• responding to failures, incidents, and security issues
• improving service quality
• preventing misuse
• actions required by law

8. Provision to third parties

The Company will not provide personal data to third parties without consent except where required or permitted by law, including when necessary to protect life, body, or property.

9. Contractors

The Company may outsource all or part of handling needed for service operation, server management, or inquiry response. When it does, it will select and supervise contractors as reasonably necessary.

10. Security

The Company takes necessary and appropriate security measures to help prevent unauthorized access, leakage, loss, or damage involving personal information it handles.

11. Disclosure, correction, suspension, etc.

If you wish to request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of third-party provision of personal data held by the Company as provided by law, contact us through the Contact page. The Company will verify identity and respond in accordance with applicable law.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised when the Service, external services, or laws change. The Company will endeavor to provide clear notice of important changes through the Service.
